Obituary for Bob Stambaugh

Robert Lee Stambaugh 89, of Bellefonte passed away Friday, August 24, 2019 at his residence.

Bob was born April 9, 1930 in Ashland to the late Monroe and Madge Cordial Stambaugh.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers James Arthur Stambaugh, Virgil Stambaugh and Ralph Darwin Stambaugh; one sister Betty Pyle; and a son in law Keith O’Neal.

Bob proudly served his nation in the U.S. Army and National Guard. He retired from AK Steel where he worked at the Hot Strip Mill. Bob loved to golf and was a lifetime member of Sandy Creek Golf course, a member of Steelworkers Local 1865, a Kentucky Colonel and of the Baptist faith.

He leaves behind his wife of 67 years Lila Blair Cassity Stambaugh; one daughter Robin O’Neal of Westwood; one son Steven Randall Stambaugh (Cindy) of Louisville; one grandchild Anne Randall Stambaugh Baker (Mike); two great-grandchildren Lauren Riley Baker and Drew Baker; along with a host of extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, at Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with pastor Ken Gowin and Roger McCaleb officiating.
Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood is in charge of arrangements.
